Groups

WoW has a two community groups hosted by Yahoo that it uses. One is used for old and new wizards alike to help share information and answers to questions. The second is for the WoW Development group.

War of Wizards Group

Objectives of the War of Wizards Group are :

  • To ask questions about WoW and to get as much information and help as possible from the experience players that you can or need.
  • To provide a general forum for discussions about WoW and the Game as a whole.

WoW Devlopment Group

Objectives of the WoW development group are:

  • Topics and mail sent to WDG in general should be about the game as a whole. Mail should not complain about individual worlds or games, but discuss concepts, provide insight, and suggest ideas that help to develop War of Wizards.
  • When replying to messages, try to keep as much of the original message in the reply as necessary to understand the conversation without having to go back and read previous email to work out what the message was all about.
  • If suggesting new topics or points for discussion, ensure that they are actually points for discussion. i.e. Saying that something sucks or such and such is crap is not good enough. State facts about why you think something is no good, then state how you think it can be improved or leave it open and ask for people opinions on how it can be improved. Inititating topics the first way just opens up the discussion list to a heated discussion that will probably not solve the problem that was never defined reasonably in the first place.
  • Also to reiterate the above, not everyone has the same experience/spells/heroes/lands/races and so on. So stating generalizations is not good unless you back it up with fact.
  • Discussion lists have a tendency to get personal at times. I will ask that players respect each others opinions and to keep the "big picture" in mind, "To make wow a better game for all."

  • List mail can be received in digest mode or normal mode, this is set by changing details in the user center of onelist.
  • Players can subscribe and unsubscribe easily.
  • Players can also turn off mail being sent if they are going to be away for a while without having to unsubscribe and then resubscribe.
