Busy Times

Just a quick post.  So the renovations of our house have finished, our new baby has arrived.  Some semblance of normality might now reign at my place, and I can start making some progress on some of the key features we have been discussing for a while.  Looking forward to posting some more updates soon about each new thing that gets implemented.

Server Delimas

Well there have been a few performance issues on our server the over the last 48 hours. However we have been moved onto a new host by our provider yesterday and after a outage of a couple of hours we are back on deck and performing again at normal speeds. Hopefully without too much inconveniance.

OS Upgrade Gone Wrong - Fedora 10 -> 12

Well it all started with needing a simple security patch for the web server content management system (Drupal) installation. Fedora 10 had stopped releasing new patches recently. I had heard it was a simple OS upgrade to get to the next release, I figured that would solve all my problems. But no ...

War of Wizard new Web Management Interface.

Well as many of you know we are replacing the old signup system with a new database back end and front end. Now that we have the order processor working and our first trial playtest running, the focus has gone back to the signup system.

Below is a link to a mock up of what the new web management interface may look like.

Game 1, Turn 0 Just Run

Well after rebuilding the server, setting up a new order management system we are ready to start our first play test. I expect things to be a little bumpy for the first few weeks. Focus now is on completings some of the integration with the new database and provide a website to login and see everything a player will need to see.

Thanks to the 14 playtesters who are going to help us through these next few weeks of very initial testing and development. Appreciated.

Any questions / comments or concerns please contact us.

Receiving #WOW Orders

WoW ... literally ... I have spent the better part of two days trying to get email to be received by wow server that can then be on processed by the mail processor ... should have been a 10 minute configuration .... why so complicated ... one word SELinux ... I was just about at the point of turning the Linux security system off for good. However I finally managed to come up with a way to allow everything to work. Very frustrating couple of days ...

Soon will need some help from people with some basic system testing... Details to follow in the next few days.
